James began his professional career as an investment banking analyst at Lehman Brothers in New York and subsequently served as Director of Corporate Development for TeleCom Towers, LLC, a leading consolidator in the telecommunications tower sector. He also served four years as an associate at Reuters Group plc in London, working in the global corporate development group.

Prior to joining The Sienna Group, James was an Executive Director at CIBC World Markets in New York, a leading middle-market investment banking firm serving a broad range of industrial clients and financial sponsors. While at CIBC, he advised clients on a broad range of assignments including sell and buy-side advisory, initial public and secondary offerings, PIPEs, and strategic advisory assignments.

James received an M.B.A. from UCLA's Anderson School of Business. He graduated magna cum laude from Washington University with a B.A. degree in economics and history.

James lives in Seattle with his wife Karen and young daughter Sophia.
